Get urgent help

Community Ready is not an emergency service and forms are not watched all the time.

If you or somebody else is in immediate danger, call 999. Do not wait for a community administrator to read a message.

The short version

  • You can normally read community information without giving your name.
  • If you send a form, it goes to authorised administrators for the community you selected.
  • Only share what the community needs. Do not send passwords, bank details, identity documents or a detailed medical history.
  • If you are under 18 and are unsure, ask a parent, guardian or trusted adult to help.
  • Do not meet a stranger or respond to an offer or request for help without involving a trusted adult.

Who sees what you send

The participating community organisation is responsible for resident submissions, local contact messages and offers or requests for help. Its authorised administrators decide who needs to see the information, what action to take, whether a general item can safely be published and when the private record should be deleted.

Ionmhas Limited operates the Community Ready technology as the community's processor for this information. Ionmhas personnel do not have routine application access to community submissions. Exceptional technical access is limited to a community's documented instruction, a security incident or a legal requirement.

If you are asking for help

Explain only what the community needs to arrange a check-in or other appropriate support. You do not need to give a diagnosis or a complete history. If the request is for somebody else, say that clearly and explain how you know them.

The community may contact the person concerned and may need to explain how it received and uses their information. Sending a request does not guarantee that a volunteer or community administrator will be available.

If you are offering help

Your name, contact details and precise location stay private unless the community has a lawful and safe reason to use them. A community may publish a general resource or approximate location, but must not publish your private contact details through the public map.

Do not arrange direct contact with a child or vulnerable person outside the community's agreed safeguarding process.

Photos locations and information about other people

Only upload a photograph you are allowed to share. Avoid photographs that identify children, reveal a private home or display vehicle registrations, school details or other unnecessary personal information.

If a form concerns somebody else, share it only when you genuinely believe asking the community to help is appropriate. Do not use Community Ready to embarrass, monitor, threaten or falsely report another person.

Your choices and rights

You may ask the relevant community to correct or delete a submission it controls. You may also have rights to access information, object to its use or ask for its use to be restricted. The community receiving the submission is the first contact for those requests.
