Guidance, made practical

Ready Scotland sets the direction. Community Ready makes it local.

Turn local risk, resources, response arrangements and communication routes into an information system people can actually use.

Community emergency planning

From guidance to a living local system.

Ready Scotland’s community planning material encourages communities to understand risk, identify resources, agree their response and keep the plan current.

Step 1

Assess local risks

Consider the emergencies that may affect the area and the people or places that could be vulnerable.

Keep local plans, contacts, documents and practical guidance in one maintained place.

Step 2

Identify local assets

Understand the skills, equipment, buildings, people and communication routes already available.

Map community-defined assets and invite resident suggestions through a moderated workflow.

Step 3

Plan how to respond

Agree how the community will communicate, support emergency responders and help people safely.

Publish alerts, emergency pages, support routes and trusted updates from the Community Portal.

Step 4

Practise and review

Share, exercise and revisit the plan as risks, resources and people change.

Give named local teams clear permissions and update the app and website from one source.

Community Ready is an independent product from Ionmhas Limited. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the Scottish Government, UK Government, Ready Scotland or GOV.UK Prepare.
