Set the public homepage image and wording
Configure the Public Header, Website Name, Introduction and community page headings.
Before you start: Sign in to the real Admin Portal as your community’s Community Admin. Use your own community details when following these steps.
How to use this lesson

“Select” means click once with a mouse, or tap once with a finger. You can go back, restart or take a break at any time.

Select “Homepage”
In the real Admin Portal, find Homepage in the left-hand menu and click it. On a small screen, open the navigation menu first.
Look at the example. Then select Next when you are ready.

Select “Homepage”
In the real Admin Portal, find Homepage in the left-hand menu and click it. On a small screen, open the navigation menu first.
Find Public website header image
This section controls the large image at the very top of the public website. It is separate from the rotating header images.
Choose public website image
Choose a wide landscape image. The portal suggests around 1800 × 700 pixels. Select the file on your device, then select Open or Choose in your device’s file picker.
Check the selected file
Wait for the upload to finish. This example uses community-landscape.jpg. Your device’s file picker may look different.
Select “Text in the grey bubble”
Optionally add the short caption shown in the grey bubble.

Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “Welcome to our Community”.
Select “Optional link for the grey bubble”
Optionally add a full web address for the bubble to open. Leave it blank if you do not want a link.

Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “https://example.org/community-hub”.
Open “When visitors click it”
Click or tap the When visitors click it list to see its choices.
Select “Open in a new window”
Choose whether the link opens here or in a new window.
Check the selection
“Open in a new window” is now selected in When visitors click it.
Save the public header
Click Save in this section. Remove deletes the saved public header image after confirmation.
Select “Website name”
Scroll to Public website name and introduction. Enter the main website title.

Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “Community Website”.
Select “Website introduction”
Click or tap inside the Website introduction box.

Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “Local news, events and useful information for our Community.”.
Select “Section heading”
This is the heading above the page and Local Group tiles.

Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “Community pages”.
Select “Section introduction”
Click or tap inside the Section introduction box.

Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “Find local organisations, meeting minutes and community information.”.
Save website wording
Click Save website wording. This saves the title, introduction and community pages wording together.
See the public homepage
The public website now uses the header image and wording you saved. The rotating images below it are managed separately under Active header images.
