Select Add a local body
Click Add a local body at the top of the page.
Select “Name”
The name is required. Only the Community Admin can change the organisation’s name and email address.
Enter name
Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “Community Council”.
Select “Email address”
Enter the organisation’s monitored email address. Contact messages addressed to this Local Body are sent here.
Enter email address
Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “council@example.org”.
Choose logo
A logo is optional. A square image works best. Select the file on your device, then select Open or Choose in your device’s file picker.
Check the selected file
Wait for the upload to finish. This example uses community-council-logo.png. Your device’s file picker may look different.
Choose the fallback icon
Choose an icon for use when the organisation has no logo. Remove logo clears the uploaded logo if needed.
Select “Accent colour”
Choose an accent colour for the public tile.
Check accent colour
The selected colour is now shown. This example uses #D8EAF8. Choose a colour that keeps the wording easy to read.
Tick “This Local Body has a public Local Group”
Tick this to create a public Local Group mini-site for the Local Body. Leaving it off keeps the body as an internal organisation and contact/publishing identity.
Check the box is ticked
“This Local Body has a public Local Group” is now ticked. Check this matches the choice you want.
Choose homepage visibility
Show on app homepage is on by default for the public group. Turning it off hides the homepage tile; the group’s public page remains available by its link.
Select “Display order”
Set the order of the group’s homepage tile. Lower numbers appear earlier.
Enter display order
Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “1”.
Select “Gateway content”
Write a short introduction for the group’s Gateway page.
Enter gateway content
Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “Find council updates, local information and meeting minutes here.”.
Select Save
Save the Local Body. A new body is published by default; the list’s Publish switch controls visibility.
Check Publish
Published Local Bodies are available to residents as contact choices. A public Local Group also needs its public configuration. Use Publish to hide or show the body.
Assign the right Admin
To let someone manage this Local Group, open Users, then Access privileges beside that Admin. Give the required page permissions and switch on this Local Body under Assigned Local Bodies, then Save privileges.
The Add a user lesson shows each of these access steps in detail.
See the resident Local Group
Residents can open the group’s tile and read its Gateway content. Assigned Admins can edit its public identity and Gateway content within their permissions; community configuration stays with the Community Admin.
