Use QR codes and joining instructions
Copy the joining link, download a QR code or printable PDF, and see how residents join.
Before you start: Sign in to the real Admin Portal as your community’s Community Admin. Use your own community details when following these steps.
How to use this lesson
Read the instruction, then look at the pointer on the example screen. Click or tap Next below when you are ready. The example screen is a demonstration. It cannot save, send or change anything.
“Select” means click once with a mouse, or tap once with a finger. You can go back, restart or take a break at any time.

In the real Admin Portal, find QR & Joining in the left-hand menu and click it. On a small screen, open the navigation menu first.

Select “QR & Joining”
In the real Admin Portal, find QR & Joining in the left-hand menu and click it. On a small screen, open the navigation menu first.
Find your joining address
Your community’s actual joining address is shown here. Use the address in your own portal; this example address is for training.
Copy the link
Click Copy link, then paste it into your notice or message.
Check it was copied
The button changes to Copied. The link is now on your clipboard.
Download the QR image
Download PNG saves an image for posters, leaflets and newsletters. Download SVG saves a scalable version for design or print work.
Download the printable instructions
Download A4 Joining Instructions saves a PDF containing your community’s QR code and step-by-step joining guidance. Open the PDF and use your device’s Print command if you need paper copies.
Copy the suggested wording
Scroll to Short poster / leaflet wording. Copy instructions puts the suggested joining text on your clipboard.
Test the joining link
Select Test link to open the joining page in a new tab. On a phone, scanning the QR code opens the same joining route.
Open or install the app
If the app is installed, the joining link may open it directly. Otherwise install it from the store offered on the joining page. Then scan the QR code again or reopen the original joining link.
Select Open Community in Community Ready
If your browser keeps the joining page open, tap this button. If you are inside another app’s browser, open the link in Safari or Chrome first.
Select Follow
Tap Follow when the Community opens in the app. Residents do not need a portal administrator account to follow a community.
The resident is following Community
Use the community’s saved joining address on your printed materials. Changing its public address later can leave printed QR codes pointing at the old address.
