Contact someone on the website

Find the website’s contact form and send a non-emergency enquiry.

Before you start: Open Community Ready and select your community. These examples use Community. You do not need an administrator login.

How to use this lesson

Read the instruction, then look at the pointer on the example screen. Click or tap Next below when you are ready. The example screen is a demonstration. It cannot save, send or change anything.

“Select” means click once with a mouse, or tap once with a finger. You can go back, restart or take a break at any time.

Scroll to Contact

On the public community website, scroll below the community pages to Contact. There is no More tab on this website.

Look at the example. Then select Next when you are ready.

  1. Scroll to Contact

    On the public community website, scroll below the community pages to Contact. There is no More tab on this website.

  2. Open “Who should receive it?”

    Click or tap the Who should receive it? list to see its choices.

  3. Select “Village Hall”

    Choose the organisation you want to contact. If no choices appear, the community has not yet published its contact organisations.

  4. Check the selection

    “Village Hall” is now selected in Who should receive it?.

  5. Select “Your name”

    Click or tap inside the Your name box.

  6. Enter your name

    Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “Alex Campbell”.

  7. Select “Your email or phone”

    Click or tap inside the Your email or phone box.

  8. Enter your email or phone

    Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “alex@example.org”.

  9. Select “Message”

    Write a short non-emergency enquiry.

  10. Enter message

    Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “Please could you tell me how to book the hall?”.

  11. Select Send message

    Check your details and select Send message. Wait for the confirmation.

  12. Check the confirmation

    Your message has been sent to the selected Local Body. If an error appears, follow its advice and try again.
