Add information to the map
Suggest a home or community asset using the app.
Before you start: Open Community Ready and select your community. These examples use Community. You do not need an administrator login.
How to use this lesson
Read the instruction, then look at the pointer on the example screen. Click or tap Next below when you are ready. The example screen is a demonstration. It cannot save, send or change anything.
“Select” means click once with a mouse, or tap once with a finger. You can go back, restart or take a break at any time.

Select Map
Tap Map at the bottom of the app. Adding a location is available in the app; the public website map is for browsing.
Look at the example. Then select Next when you are ready.

Select Map
Tap Map at the bottom of the app. Adding a location is available in the app; the public website map is for browsing.
Select Add location
Tap Add location on the map screen.
Select “Community assets”
Tap Community assets for a shared resource. Choose Houses for a home instead; the category choices are then hidden. Your community can rename these labels.
Check the selection
“Community assets” is now selected in Location type.
Select “Defibrillator”
Tap the category that matches this resource. Only community assets need a category.
Check the selection
“Defibrillator” is now selected in What type of community assets is it?.
Move the map to the location
Drag the map until the crosshair in the centre is over the exact place. Use + and − to zoom. The crosshair stays in the centre while the map moves.
Check Selected location
Check that the selected location is right before continuing. Do not share a private home without permission.
Select “Community assets name”
Enter a clear name people will recognise.
Enter community assets name
Type your own details here. In this example, we have entered “Defibrillator at Community Hub”.
Submit for approval
Tap Submit for approval once and wait for the reply.
Read the delivery message
A successful message says the location was sent for admin approval. If it says it could not be sent, it has not reached the administrator; check your connection before trying again.
