Community Ready terms explained

Plain-English explanations of the names used in Community Ready.

Follow these steps

  1. Admin Portal — the private website where authorised people maintain community information.

  2. Community website — the public website for one community. It can be viewed without signing in.

  3. App — the Community Ready mobile app used by residents.

  4. Alert — a current important message. It can also be sent as a phone notification.

  5. News — a trusted local update published by a named local body.

  6. Event — a dated local activity, including repeating activities.

  7. Community Map — community-defined places, homes and useful assets.

  8. Emergency Plan — local guidance that is saved on the app for offline use.

  9. Contributor — a person with access only to assigned areas and local bodies.

  10. Admin — a person who maintains the areas and local bodies assigned by a Community Admin.

  11. Community Admin — the person responsible for the whole community space, its users and its information. This role may be called Super Admin in account records.

  12. Platform owner — the Community Ready team role that creates and supports community spaces. It does not maintain local content.
